Prendiville Family Monument

Prendiville Family Monument

Existing Structure

Over the years, the original Prendiville monument had weathered due to its cement composition. Recognising the need for restoration and revitalisation, the Prendiville family sought out Illumina’s expertise to undertake the task of rebuilding and redesigning their cherished family monument.

Proposed Mock Up and 3D Animation

Our initial step involved creating a digital mockup and a 3D animation. This allowed the client to immerse themselves in the design and gain a comprehensive sense of the envisioned concept.

Sandstone

Sandstone was sourced from overseas to create the monument. It is the sole material used, sqm sandstone were incorporated in the design. After discussing material options with our client sandstone was the best choice because of its durability to weather conditions and time.

Manufacturing

The manufacturing process involved sourcing the sandstone material and getting it shipped from overseas. After receiving the sandstone we began creating the monument with absolute precision.

Landscaping

Illumina took into consideration other factors that could affect the desired outcome of the monument. One of these was landscaping, the surrounding monuments played a role in which direction it would be placed. We acknowledged other surrounding monuments, trees, and the general appearance when looking from afar. After discussing such with our client we placed it at the perfect angle to embellish the landscape seamlessly.
